What is Proverbs ?
"A short well known sentence or phrase that gives advice or says that
something is generally true in life" or "A brief popular saying that gives advice about how people should live or that expresses a belief that is generally thought to be true .
Or
"A proverb is a short, pithy saying that expresses a traditionally held truth or piece of advice, based on common sense or experience .
Why do we use Proverbs ?
"To teach and educate the audience."
The most important function of proverbs is to teach and educate the audience. They often contain expert advice, with a role for educating the readers on what they may face if they do something. Since proverbs are usually metaphorical and indirect, they allow writers to express their messages in a less harsh way.
Here we will discussed some more proverbs with definition .
(i) A handful of patience is worth more than a bushel of brains
Definition:- Patience is more precious than intelligence .
(ii) A happy heart is better than a full purse
Definition:- Happiness is better than wealth .
(iii) A heavy purse gives to a light heart
Definition:- When you have money you feel more cheerful and secure .
(iv) A hedge between keeps friendship green
Definition:- It is important to respect the privacy of others .
(v) A hungry belly has no ears
Definition:- A hungry person is totally concentration on their need for food and nothing else interests them .
(vi) A hungry wolf is fixed to no place
Definition:- A desperate person will go from place to place when they need to satisfy their needs .

Definition:- Do not lend or borrow money .

Definition:- It is impossible for a bad or unpleasant person to become good or pleasant .+
